About Us

We are a group of women from all walks of life who enjoy curling recreationally each Wednesday night at 7 p.m. from late September until mid-April. Our season is split into two draws: September through December, and January through April. Players sign up to the league individually and are placed on a different team for each draw. We welcome all levels of curlers, whether you are new to curling or have many years under your belt.

With a maximum of 40 members, there is plenty of time to curl. Each draw is comprised of 10 weeks, and each curler will play roughly 8 games and 2 byes per draw. As we curl in the winter, we reserve a few nights at the end of our second draw for makeup games in the event of a “snow night”. If we don’t need any “snow nights”, these extra curling evenings are used for fun games and skill development at the end of our season.

In addition to regular membership dues, our league also collects a nominal social fee to subsidize two social dinners; one is in December and the other in April, allowing us to connect off-ice. The Business Women’s league is also a proud supporter of local charities. We fundraise at our December dinner for great causes supporting women and families within the community.

The Business Women’s league enjoys membership in the Ladies Curling Association, and on a voluntary basis, can participate in a number of bonspiels in the greater Ottawa area.

We are currently accepting new members for our league as well as spares. Members of Carleton Heights Curling Club in good standing can spare an unlimited number of times.

Should you be interested in joining our league, please contact our membership coordinator.
